A further guess on my part is that Russian YouTube performance(s) have reverted to the composer's Czech forename - hence "M." Kraft, However, I may be 100% wrong. It's all surmise and guesswork until we get chapter and verse...

The Singolo Orchestra's website gives these details, when (Google-)translated:

...the Russian premiere of the Concertino for Two Cellos and Orchestra Nicholas Krafft.
http://www.philharmonia.spb.ru/collectives/about/28473/

In the Russian text the composer is "Микулаша Крафта", which, when translitterated is (I think): "Mikulash Kraft". So I believe we have the correct composer - but it'd be good to have further details of the work in question.

Excellent research, Alan - and all for a piece of music you don't rate that highly. That marks the true academic.

Richard Moss

From the list of works, there are some duos for 2 cellos - could this piece be orchestrated from them (or one of them?)

I will try and follow the link given for one of these orchestras (ensembles).

Cheers

Richard

PS I can only echo Gareth's sentiments about Alan's diligence!

Blushes. I just followed a few trails...
