in fact came up briefly earlier- I've heard Hamelin's recording, I think it was, of her sonatinas, and some of her other works (bassoon concerto etc.) have been recorded on BIS and elsewhere I believe (the library here has a few; I hear good things about them. Enjoyed the sonatinas.)

I have her Piano Concerto #1 in a on a cassette but it's been years since I listened to it.  Another project for October.  I better start making a list.....

It's quite a story: born in Russia, childhood in a commune, studies at the Paris Conservatoire, concert career between the wars, spends her last two decades in Canada writing works like the 'Manitoba" Symphony. 

Intriguing indeed.

I've her 10 caprices for solo violin. Very effective and smart violin music, rather difficult. Solist was Jasper Wood and it's a Fleurs de Lys CD.

There are many recordings  including the composer playing both violin (some of the caprices) and piano (some of the piano sonatas). I also possess a Concerto for solo unaccompanied violin (!), a Triple Concerto for trumpet,clarinet, bassoon + strings, a bassoon concerto and the Markantes Stück for piano and orchestra.
