I recently heard the Ballad on a Norwegian Folk Song by Julius Roentgen and it was very moving and beautiful piece of music. Brahms said the young Roentgen would be one of the great ones, and yet the music of this prolific composer is painfully sparse. CPO had been on a quest to record 18 of his 25 symphonies (7 were lost) but have only done a few. I believe this man was the equal of Brahms and and Grieg and some one must advocate his music so it is better known.
This new site is doing something about it and needs to be supported..

Thanks; but my site is now woefully out of date. It stll acts as a channel of communication for those interested in performing the music, though, so it has its uses.
