Whilst looking through the radio programmes in the current issue of Radio Times, I happened to glance down at the Classic FM column for Friday 6th November and was amazed to see that, under the title "Full Works", they were putting on a full 2 hour concert on records at 9 pm GMT consisting entirely of music by 19th Century English composers including symphonies by Samuel Wesley, Crotch and Clementi, an overture by MacFarren and William Sterndale Bennett's Caprice in E!
Normally, I tend to steer well clear of Classic FM because of the bitsy nature of their programmes interspersed as they are by irritating commercials. However, I think that, on this occasion, they should be commended on their choice of works and I for one will endeavour to tune in to this station and put up with the adverts next Friday night.
