Easy to miss (and now deleted), this concerto-manqué was recorded by Raphael Wallfisch and the BBC CO under Vernon Handley in 2003 for ASV as part of a typically enterprising programme (along with Herbert Murrill's Cello Concerto No.2, Rubbra's Soliloquy and Haydn Wood's Philharmonic Variations) -

ASV White Line WHL 2153

Murrill's Concerto is largely based on the Catalan carol The Song of the Birds - hence the title of the disc.

Thanks for that :)

It shouldn't be easy to miss when one actually owns the cd ::) ;D
