Does anyone know anything about this recording - available from Amazon. It is on the 'La Bottega Discantica' label with Aldo Ceccato conducting the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus. I notice that it was reviewed on the  'Building a Library' program on January 29th 2011, a broadcast I missed.

I've got this Cd. The incidental music for "The Merchant of Venice" was composed in 1934 for a stage production in Venice by the famous Max Rheinardt.
The very accomplished score (lasting around 51') sounds very "functional", but I could'n say it attains real memorability.
It contains some element of "pastiche" , adapting ancient venetian music of XV and XVI century.
BTW the website of "Bottega discantica" (label producer) reproduces an enthusiastic review (also about the stage direction) from the "London Times", 20/7/1934 (but it's in Italian only).

Thanks for that.  I'll put it on my list, but not at the top!
