Just to underline Dundonnell's news in the Joubert thread:

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra under the direction of David Lloyd-Jones have recorded three major Standford works for issue on the British Music Society label during late spring of 2012.   David Lloyd-Jones directs performances of the First Symphony and A Prelude to a Fantasy: The Naiades, and Raphael Wallfisch is the soloist in Standford's Cello Concerto . Wallfisch, who is also the Concerto's dedicatee, gave the first broadcast performance over 30 years ago.  This will be the first commercial recordings of these works.

Great news. The BMS received a large bequest from the late Michael Hurd - I wonder if this is reflected in this more ambitious recording project ...

???

... if so, long may such projects continue.
