Felix vom Rath (1866 - 1905)

Does anyone know anything about the composer Felix vom Rath. Other than a vague reference to his Piano Concerto, Op. 6 in the booklet accompanying the Atterberg Piano Concerto Cd from CPO, I can't seem to find anything except that he favored the Liszt "school". Any idea about his music.

An article on the website of the "Gesellschaft für Bayerische Musikgeschichte" says he was one of the closest friends of Richard Strauss as well as being a friend of Max Schillings. He studied with Thuille and Sgambati among others. His piano concerto is in one movement, his symphonic piece Nachtstück after a poem by Alberta von Puttkamer was first printed in Denkmäler der Tonkunst in Bayern, Neue Folge, Band 17, published by the above mentioned Bavarian Music History Society in 2005.

A more substantial piano quartet Op.2 was published in 1898 (someone- maybe me - added it to the IMSLP wishlist under the composer's name...) Most of his other works published before 1923 (before 1965, even) seem to have been sets of songs. (Most; there's also his 3 Tanz-Idyllen for piano Op.9 (pub.by 1904 by Suddeutsch. Musikverlag); 2 piano pieces Op.10 (capriccio alla polacca, and serenade); Op.11- 2 pieces for violin and piano, ©1904; a violin sonata; possibly/probably published before 1960 and also not lieder/gesange were a Festmarsch Op.14 and 3 piano pieces Op.15...)

And the piano concerto op.6 ©1901, yes.
