Camille Wolfgang Zeckwer  Born  26 June 1875 Philadelphia   Died  7 August 1924 Southampton, NY State

Camille the eldest of eight children*, initially studied with his father, Richard Zeckwer who originated from Prussia and then with Antonin Dvorak in New York. Later in Berlin he studied with Philipp Scharwenka for composition and Florian Zajic for violin.  During the period around 1910 he conducted Edwin A. Fischer's Symphony Club Orchestra.  In 1917,he succeeded his father as Director of The Municipal Academy, Philadelphia.

He married his wife Hortense in 1900 and their son Adrien was born in 1902.
