Some of you may be interested in this upcoming cd, released next month.

It builds on the conceit of the notorious Hexameron Variations (Liszt, Thalberg, Pixis, Herz, Czerny and Chopin) by also including a work by each of those composers. All in all, looks like quite an eclectic programme.

Ah, thanks for that arpeggio - earlier I found this CD on MDT's website and I was hunting for more information - i.e. what the remainder of the CD consisted of and you have answered my question!  Sounds like it's worthy of investigation.

Beginning to wonder if there's more and more a hint that Pixis' music has been getting a bad rap (especially after that deliberate Beethoven/Pixis switcheroo concert, iirc) and maybe I should investigate further too...

I was prepared to be excited about this but only three items are otherwise unrecorded (Thalberg, Pixis and Buche) which is a shame. Still this is a good programme if you are building up a collection of rarities associated with the Paris salons and Hexameron.
