Marx Piano Quartet & Korngold Suite

Hidden away in today's jpc announcements is this intriguing CD of the New York Piano Quartet playing Joseph Marx's Piano Quartet in the Form of a Rhapsody and Korngold's Suite for Two Violins, Cello and Piano, left hand.

Hi, Mark! Hmm, sounds inviting.

The Korngold work appeared on an ASV CD, along with the Piano Quintet, Op.15, played by the Schubert Ensemble. I don't know the Marx, but I think this is probably the Rhapsody in A major that appeared on a CPO disc of his music for piano quartet.

It's a nice pairing, for sure.
