Best news I have heard all day. I have always admired Kalkbrenner and once "almost" had the Effusio Musica in my fingers.

Never heard any of his chamber music so this is a must for me.

Piano trios etc. by a number of his contemporaries have hit CD but, I see, not his yet. I do see that Turnabout did have an LP with the Effusio musica in the late 1970s, yes... (oh, I see- the septet (or a septet? he wrote at least two- opp.15 (pub.ca.1814) and 132 (pub.ca.1836)- by Kalkbrenner- ah, ok, MDT says it's the same septet, with his quintet op.81...) was recorded by Consortium Classicum on MDG in 1998*, so that's not quite a world premiere- I thought I vaguely remembered maybe reading the Fanfare magazine review..., but this still looks like a really good new cpo release. ... And I like the Linos-Ensemble :) )

*Worldcat also lists a Sender Freies Berlin broadcast from around 1980.

I have Kalkbrenner's Effusio Musica, if anyone is interested I can upload it.
Cheers!

If it's the performance from the Turnabout LP, then I'm afraid that 's not permissible. Any other non-commercial recording would be fine, of course.

Yes, it is. OK. Better to know than be banned. Thanks Mark.
