Arthur Battelle Whiting  Born 20.6.1861  Cambridge, Mass.   Died  20.7.1936  Beverly, Mass

ABT was educated at the New England Conservatory, studying under William H Sherwood, Louis Maas and George Chadwick.  From 1883 he spent two years in Munich where he studied under Josef Rheinberger.

In 1889 he married Grace Kneeland Gorham  28.11.1855- 26.12.1936

He was a nephew of the composer George Whiting  1842-1923.
