You'll see that I don't agree. I find it empty and bombastic. I much prefer his earlier work, especially Symphony No.2 which is a terrific score.

Anyone wanting to examine the bombast for themselves can do so on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63FSLpVe9YQ. Not the Dutton version (which I haven't heard), but rather one played by the Leningrad Phil under Mravinsky. Rhythmically interesting but rather banale in terms of invention, I'd say – and only barely within the forum's remit.
