Programmamaker/presentator Thijs Bonger gaat verder met zijn speurtocht door de muziekgeschiedenis, op jacht naar piano-etudes. Een uur vol pianomuziek die je zelden of nooit hoort. We zijn alweer toe aan deel XIX, waarin we op reis gaan naar het 19e eeuwse Italië, naar Bologna om precies te zijn. Stefano Golinelli(1818-1891) draaide heel aardig mee in het circus van de klavierleeuwen die rond 1850 heel Europa afschuimden. Schumann noemde hem 'een onverwacht levensteken uit operaland Italië'.

Stefano Golinelli left an opus of 234 works (almost all of them for piano solo). Besides R.Schumann' s praise, he was much praised by Ferdinand Hiller ("Revue and Gazette musicale de Paris", 1842).
There is just one Cd of his piano music on the label Tactus.
