Let's see what this will bring out! Timpani have already published in 2002 an interesting CD with his piano quintet "Poème" and his set of piano pieces "La Maison dans les Dunes". Very recommendable! On the (rather deceving) recording of his opera "La Cabrera" we already discussed earlier on.

BTW, I see there's lots of Gabriel Dupont to be heard on YT, especially his piano works, and a complete recording of his opera Antar.

I have this 2009 NDR production of "Antar" set up for 3 CDs (one act each on CDs 1 and 2) and acts 3 & 4 on the third CD and an English resume - if anyone wants it.

The new CD is replete with Wagnerian-inspired music typical of composers such as Franck, Lekeu and Chuasson. It's absolutely gorgeous in its rich, heavy orchestration - not particularly individual, I'd say, but thoroughly enjoyable. A must-buy for lovers of late, late romanticism in full flower.

That's encouraging, Alan. I took delivery last week, and the CD is slowly rising up my "must listen" pile...
