Sad loss of Jessye Norman

I would dedicate one word of remembrance to Jessye Norman.
She left a huge discopraphy, comprising also titles fit to this forum (Weber's Euryanthe, Verdi's Un giorno di Regno and Il Corsaro).
Irrespective of the idiom, I would also remember Faurè's Penelope.

The first CD I bought - was it 1984? - was her recording of Strauss' 4 last songs. Fantastic!

She was stupendous. Her recorded repertoire was extensive and, as has been mentioned, included some real rarities, of which I too would count her Euryanthe and Pénélope among the highlights.

Jessye Norman was an amazing artist,her great natural gifts and dedication to her art. And she had a magnificent stage presence; I was fortunate to see her 3 times at the Metropolitan Opera- twice in Les Troyons [the second time, she sang both Cassandra and Dido]. We are blessed to have her recorded legacy.
