This must be one of Albert Lortzing's best scores. The title may be misleading for it refers to the name of a London pub and has nothing to do with the navy. The plot concerns some youthful adventures of Henry V and it is difficult to understand why the opera disappeared for 170 years. It is highly commendable that Ulf Schirmer has resurrected this wonderful work and one can only hope that theatres will take it on board.
An excellent production has just completed its second run at the Eduard-von-Winterstein Theatre in Annaberg-Buchholz in Saxony. Photos from this outstanding and memorable production can be seen on their homepage: https://www.winterstein-theater.de/35-Zum-Grossadmiral.
It is regrettable that other meritorious productions of forgotten operas I have seen in Annaberg have not been taken up by other theatres. Among them are: Wagner-Régeny's, Der Günstling, Goldmark's Götz von Berlichingen, Gast's Der Löwe von Venedig and Mangold's Tanhäuser. It is equally regrettable that neither Deutschlandradio Kultur nor MDR Kultur venture into the Ore Mountains of Saxony.

Sounds very interesting but, alas, the link you provide produces only an Error page.

It's the added final full stop that was the problem. Here's the corrected link:
