I remember years ago a very positive review of Friedrich Kiel's piano quintets as recorded on Marco Polo in Fanfare. Just listened now to a different recording (briefer, probably without repeats) of the C minor quintet from a SWR Archive recording (online) and it really was strikingly good, memorable even .
