Bendix Piano Concerto

Mention of Bendix put me in mind of his superb Piano Concerto in G minor (1884) which has been mentioned in passing at UC. This is the recording we have:

It's been around for some years (it was recorded in 2005) and features that fine reviver of unsung piano concertos, Oleg Marshev. It's a biggish piece (38 minutes), more Germanic in style than his more Russian-oriented symphonies; I'm surprised that Hyperion have never picked it up as it's a better piece than many of their choices (not that I don't buy them - I do!). And Bendix certainly had a gift for rather fetching melody...

Yes. It's one of the finest of all unsung Romantic piano concertos. Some while ago I read that, as well as Oleg Marshev, another well know pianist had taken it up but I can't remember who it was!
