(conductor) who was associated with the BBC Welsh Symphony in the 1970s and Canadian orchestras more recently, with a considerable discography and repertoire, died in a hit-and-run accident yesterday the 5th.

Oh, what a sad end. I remember his days with the Welsh orchestra and on BBC R3. It seems he was a champion of classical music in all possible ways, and played a big part in musical education, school orchestras, and so forth. He will be greatly missed by Canadian music lovers.

I remember to have sen him, many years ago, conducting at the Proms Vaughan Williams Fourth with the Welsh BBC.
