...just released on Naxos, coupled with the much more familiar Piano Quartet No.1 by Fauré:

Absolutely superb! A three-movement late, late-romantic piece dating from 1908 lasting 42 minutes. Wow! Talk about stretching the bounds of tonality - not to mention those of chamber music. I'm surprised no-one's tried orchestrating this. The slow movement's simply sublime.

It's a good work.  I have the Oliver Triendl & Co. recording on CPO, coupled with Enescu's 2nd Quartet.

The coupling with Faure would mean doubling or tripling-up, but fortunately for me the CPO version of Enescu's 1st and 2nd piano quartets are up on YT! Not wanting to re-visit the issue again, but I am still baffled by this.

maybe because Naxos already has a recording of the 2nd piano quartet coupled not with the first but with the piano quintet in A minor.
