Dear friends
Anyone know anything  about this composer?

Well, spelled Waelput iirc, we have a symphony of his uploaded, but it's been difficult to find out very much about him.

Indeed, it's Hendrik Waelput, born as Philippe Henri Pierre Jean-Baptiste Waelput in Gent (Belgium) in 1845. He died in 1885.
At first he studied music with Karel Miry in his hometown, before turning to litterature and law at the University of Gent. At last he studied music at the Brussels Conservatoire, where Fétis and Hanssens were his teachers.
In 1866 Waelput was one of the founders of the Royal Flemish Theatre (Koninklijke Vlaamse Schouwburg) in Brussels. Later he was conductor in Brugge (Bruges), Gent and finally Antwerp.
He was a prolific composer. Among his works are five symphonies (the second can be found on YouTube in an old performance by the Antwerp Philharmonic under Frits Celis, not "Selis" as stated). Further he composed a fluteconcerto, cantatas on Dutch (Flemish) texts and three operas.
His style was conservative and sometimes he is referred to as "the Flemish Schubert".

The Youtube recording of Waelput's 2nd Symphony is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_GJOYsBsZ4&spfreload=10%20Message%3A%20JSON%20Parse%20error%3A%20Unexpected%20EOF%20(url%3A%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Da_GJOYsBsZ4)

Waelput is considered a member of the "Flemish School", and was an ardent admirer of Peter Benoit and his attempts to turn Flemish into a cultural language. Hence their exclusive use of Flemish (Dutch) in vocal music.
