Title: Stoyanov
Post by: eschiss1 on Thursday 07 July 2011, 20:20
ah, thanks! looking forward to hearing. hope someone can provide the missing information. (I wonder if Wikipedia-nl (http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veselin_Stojanov) means B-flat minor, as it appears, or B minor? and if there's a recording of the 2nd symphony of 1969?) Interesting too that they've created a separate Wiki-article for the 1st concerto...

also, re concerto 3, is that from the LP with Anton Dikov as pianist and the composer as conductor with Bulgarian Radio? (sorry, Vasil Stefanov as conductor, I think. Library listing hard to read.)

Yes. The piano concerto no.3 is from lp with Anton Dikov and Vasil Stefanov.
The conductor in the Symphony no.1 by stoyanov, is also Vasil Stefanov.

All best,

Tony

This same recording (piano concerto no.3 conducted by Stefanov) is now on CD again (or at least online mp3 download!) I think with also Stoyanov's piano concerto 2. See CDUniverse (http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=8610481) (track listings; label is Bulgarian National Radio's own label. On the plus side, this seems to be the only way to finally find out what the track names are for the 3rd concerto besides tracking down the score...)

*Vivace
*Aria: Adagio
*Toccata: Vivo
