Dacapo are about to release more music by Danish composer Knudåge Riisager. This time his 1st Symphony and 4 Danish pictures. I quite enjoyed the excerpts. Neoclassical music for sure, but tonal and also a lot of fun. I've just heard some of Riisager's ballet music (Slaraffenland) wich I found brilliantly orchestrated and well worth listening to.
Here's the new release:

I must admit that I had not been aware that Riisager was a symphonist let alone that he write five symphonies in total :o
I must say that I hope that CPO soon gives us the 3rd and 4th symphonies of Rudolph Simonsen after the excellent impreession made by his 1st and 2nd on that label.
And, Dacapo, what about continuing the Paul von Klenau cycle??
.....anyone for Niels Viggo Bentzon?? He only wrote 24 symphonies, of course ;D ;D
I have tapes of Bentzon syms 2 and 6- hope someone will record the set if they're any indication.
I've not invested in this record yet, but this review makes it very tempting.
