Title: The Avant Garde Project
Post by: britishcomposer on Wednesday 31 August 2011, 23:35
Though Unsung Composers is mainly dealing with romantic to early 20th century composers some of you may be interested in this project:
http://avantgardeproject.conus.info/mirror/archive.htm (http://avantgardeproject.conus.info/mirror/archive.htm)
The site offers free downloads of digitalised LPs. Take a look, at least some composers may find your interest.
There are for example some works by Othmar Schoeck whom few would term an avantgardist.
(Oh, I've just noticed that this is Schoeck's 125th birthday, September 1st. Happy Birthday! :D)

Many thanks for this link! Some wonderful music here. Certainly, not all will be to the tastes of everone on this forum (myself included), but for the adventurous and the open-minded, there are some remarkably approachable works worth investigating.
