I think the same performers have recorded (for broadcast (edit: see below- they have released it on CD)) the Foerster cello concerto before (or this is a repeat of their earlier broadcast of the work). It's an enjoyable late piece in any case (sometimes given no opus number I think, sometimes opus 143 as you say. Anycase, I think I have their earlier(?) recording somehow... )
ah. indeed, commercially released on a 2009 Supraphon CD, with Martinu's first concerto and a capriccio by Jan (not Vitezslav) Novák. Anycase, enjoy - movements are Andante sostenuto e funeste - Moderato - Allegro ma non troppo (tre battute) (and total length is about 20 minutes.)
Oh, Sorry! I changed topics title.
That's OK, Atsushi. I've changed it back.
If someone would be so kind to snag this for DL, it would be much appreciated! :)
that would be difficult as the cello concerto is apparently a commercial recording. (at least, the same personnel - it may be a new broadcast recording with the same personnel but I have my doubts, I think this is a broadcast consisting of older recordings.) perhaps the rest isn't though...
As Eric says, Jim.
Sorry. I thought this was a broadcast of a live concert. :-[
I may be mistaken and it may be..
