Title: Toivo Kuula - Legends II from Alba
Post by: M. Henriksen on Thursday 01 March 2012, 17:07
This release have slipped under my radar for sure. It's been available at jpc for almost a month..
This is a followup to the Legends disc, and the contents are compositions for choir with or without orchestra.
There seems to be some substantial pieces here, among them Hymn of the Sea and the Festive March. The latter reminds me very much of similar festive music by Sibelius. One very positive thing is that on this disc there's no duplication of the repertoire recorded by Dutton last year.

Interesting. I just ordered the Dutton disc, so to see a new disc on another label with zero dupe is nice...

Edit: I actually received the disc today. Utterly wonderful, and will have to be on the look out for this new disc.
