Does anyone know anything about this "company" and the mp3 downloads they sell on amazon UK and emusic etc. I cannot purchase the MGM Roy Harris mp3 of Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight" etc.
in the USA. Is this outfit legit?
I'd be very surprised if Amazon or eMusic hadn't investigated to satisfy themselves of Soundmarks' legitimacy, but if you look at this (http://www.hovhaness.com/News-Hovhaness-Soundmark.html) page advertising their Hovhaness recordings you'll see a caveat in the last paragraph of the introduction which says: "Due to varying local copyright laws, it should be noted that not all albums are downloadable in certain territories." It looks likely that if you have a US I.P. address then you may not be able to download their recordings, legitimate or no.
