Just to add to the discography :D opus 38 is also on Pan Classics (with works by Rudi Stephan - who probably deserves much more mention in the UC forum, now I think on it... - and Weill.) (the cpo recording is 11 minutes, the Pan recording is almost 13. not that much a difference, though.)
Op.53 also on an Andante 3-CD set (2003) (Vienna Philharmonic 20th Century Music - Volume I), 1985 performance conducted by Haitink (coupled with Schmidt 2 cond. by Leinsdorf, and other works. About the same duration in that performance, though.)

... bitte :) . Ah, David Frühwirth who's recorded the violin concerto (which I've only heard on LP I think, but which has done well on CD) - have seen that name recently. Another violinist to watch, perhaps. (Hrm. His repertoire on his website ... I see :)! )
