I know nothing about Franz Messer save his interesting dates: 1811 - 1860.

According to Wikipedia, Franz Joseph Messer was principal conductor of the Frankfurt Museum/Opera orchestra (Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester) between 1848 and 1860.

There doesn't seem to be much about Franz Messer online. I will need to go scour the books!
