Felicity Vincent and Oliver Davis will be performing Ingeborg Bronsart's Notturno for cello and piano Op.13, Elegie for cello and piano Op.14 and Romance for cello and piano Op.15 on June 13 at 1 pm in St Pancras Church, London. This is a rare opportunity to hear this live.
May I take from the "New Recordings and Broadcasts" inclusion that someone intends to broadcast it? Further good news! Anycase, enjoy.
Sadly, it will not be broardcast but I do know that the performers would be interested in recording the Bronsart works.
The verdict on this music is that The Elegie is quite sublime, a very beautiful piece with a haunting melody. The Romanze, a much brighter piece and the nocturne would stand comparison with most pieces for cello and piano. I don't understand why these pieces are not performed, particularly the Elegie. I am hoping that some one will now record them.
