This is a work of large proportions - circa 40 mins in length - dating from 1913/14.

Very interesting-I hadn't known Marx had written a piano trio! I love Marx's luscious brand of late-romantic Impressionism (as it were), and have my fingers crossed that CPO will bring out his masterful Herbstsymphonie as well as the still-unrecorded Nordlands-Rapsodie at some point.

I think you mean the Herbstsymphonie.

I look forward to the trio, I seem to recall that someone set up an excellent website promoting the recording of Marx works - ASV, alas no more, started recording some of them.

I just downloaded the Marx trio CD from Amazon US.  A lovely bit of schmaltz - exactly what you would expect from Joe.  And i love it...
