I have only just heard of the sad death of Richard Itter, founder of Lyrita Records. He founded the label in 1959 to record mainly British music with top quality orchestras and top quality sound. Among the 'unsungs' he recorded were Hurlstone, Foulds and Scott.
Sad to hear this. We are certainly indebted to Richard Itter for his lifelong efforts to bring the best neglected British music to the attention of record buyers - no doubt other members will know the details.
