Title: Augustin Barié, 1883-1915
Post by: Aramiarz on Monday 06 October 2014, 05:22
recordings of his few works in Solstice label, I saw in JPC. Some years ago Caliope released this works with Veronique Le Guen  , Symphonie opus 5, elegir, 3 pieces opus 7. This repertoire for all that love the Romantic organ! Augustin was blind from his birth  :'(, studied with Guilmant And Vierne. Dupre dedicated him prelude&fugue in fa minor.

... btw shouldn't it be Barié, if only to make the pronunciation clearer (Bahr-ee-ay, rather than Bahr-ee, somewhat like the Peter Pan author?) That's how IMSLP has it - Augustin Charles Barié (see Augustin Barié (http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Bari%C3%A9,_Augustin)) and Wikipedia too (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustin_Bari%C3%A9).
