Here's another composer born 200 years ago: Artôt, born in Brussels on 25 January 1815, was a violin virtuoso and composer who studied with Rodolphe and August Kreutzer at the Paris Conservatoire and toured Europe and the U.S. His compositions include a Violin Concerto in A minor, Fantasies and Variations for violin with piano and orchestral accompaniment, String Quartets and a Piano Quintet. He died in Paris in July 1845

Toskey lists the VC as his Op.18, published in 1851.
