Title: Hugo Kaun: Octet
Post by: Mark Thomas on Monday 28 September 2015, 13:46
Now available in the Downloads board here (http://www.unsungcomposers.com/forum/index.php/topic,5821.0.html) is a surprisingly good Octet by Hugo Kaun. I say "surprisingly good" because I often find Kaun's music over-written, over-long and stodgy, but this work is none of those things.

Thanks!

Parts, and some notes on the work, at IMSLP (http://imslp.org/wiki/Octet,_Op.34_%28Kaun,_Hugo%29). First(?) published as his Op.26 in 1891 (that, or he wrote two octets and they haven't been both of them turned up and compared to show that they're different, yet..., or... hrm.)

Score recently republished by Musikproduktion Höflich, according to the information there.
