Did anyone listen to these recordings? Any opinion? I really enjoyed Braunfels' Die Vögel a few years ago!

I suppose I didn't go for them because vol.1 only contains 5 songs and vol.2 features some pretty unattractive singing from the soloists - Camilla Nylund in particular wobbles all over the place. In short, the CDs aren't as enticing as they could have been.

I've bought both. I've placed reviews - in my rather amateurish English - on Amazon.co.uk
To be short volume 1 is the better one, although my interest are the Variations; volume 2 alas is infected with some rotten singing. Ricarda Merbeth is absolutely out of tune and heavy on vibrato. And how I hate those vibrato singing. (Ever heard Charles Aznavour?)
A missed opportunity!
