Oh well, I think I remain faithful to Michel Plasson's EMI recording of 1987 having such a wonderful cast!
Me too. It's absolutely superb.
We may have Plasson's superb recording of Guercœur, but seeing this opera on stage was a very moving experience. It made a lasting impression on me and my only disappointment was that the third act was slightly cut.
Next season the Theater am Domhof in Osnabrück is putting on a concert performance of Walter Braunfels' Galathea. It's a great shame that it's not being staged and one can only hope a recording will result from it. Four performances are planned from 6th June 2020.
Has anyone recorded this broadcast? It is very much anticipated.

;) Ahh, I didn't check whether it was the whole broadcast. Like others here, I'm perfectly satisfied with the Plasson recording.
There's no point in waiting. The Plasson recording awaits interested parties...
