Title: Lefeld: String Sextet
Post by: mikehopf on Saturday 29 June 2019, 05:12
I'd never heard of him, but Jerzy Lefeld's String Sextet in E Op.3 ( 1919) was broadcast on Polish Radio this morning and was worth hearing.

A word of caution, though: we need to be sure that his music does not conflict with our remit.

You don't need to worry about that. On YouTube you can hear his 2nd Symphony. It is quite romantic.

That's good to know - but we do ask contributors to contact us first before posting about music that falls beyond the confines of our remit.

His 2nd Symphony is a lovely late, late Romantic romp - thanks!

... and I agree with both those statements, of course. Yes, it's very good to get to know the Symphony, rather a fine piece of late romanticism.
