This new production starring Jonas Kaufmann has received rave reviews and the premiere was broadcast live. I unfortunately missed the live stream and just wondered if anyone here knows whether the broadcast has been uploaded anywhere online, that one can listen to now? Thank you for your help.
Here's a teaser video:

Thankyou! I hope the whole thing was recorded for a possible DVD.....
Me too. But only for the singing. Won't be watching the silly production...
This is a lovely work for sure, had me mesmerised through the whole thing... but anyone else find that Korngold over does it with the Celesta(or was it the glockenspiel?) he goes bonkers with it, it was a bit distracting for me.

The DVDs are out soon:

The production is beyond stupid. Would be nice to have just the sound.
Quite so. One to be 'watched' with eyes firmly closed...
Speaking personally, I probably won't bother with this. I'm perfectly satisfied with Neblett/Kollo/Leinsdorf on CD.
Try this one with your eyes open! I've seen four different productions, none silly, but almost as good as this one.

There must be closed cabal operating...
Maybe Korngold was a cabal-ist. (My ancestors would not have approved of that weak pun. But maybe it required hitting high As...)
Regietheater should be renamed 'Director-Porn'.
A complete and utter betrayal of the composer's intentions. A complete and utter waste of good singing and playing.

Well, this is a remarkably positive review. Perhaps I should by it after all?!
Why not? If you like the staging, no problem. I might buy it too - and 'watch' it with my eyes closed...
I saw this production in Warsaw & hated it. The only reason I might be tempted to buy it after this review, is the praise for the intensity of the acting and the brilliance of Petrenko's conducting.
Before I die however, I want to see this work in a production that obeys the very detailed stage directions by its composer.
Just once.
Yes, please. Me too, Brendan.
There's a fine line between making one's mark and making a fool of oneself. I'm no Korngold expert but Simon Stone seems to have done the latter. For me, it's unwatchable. The singing is gorgeous, however, so it would be fine on LP or CD.

I'll buy it and put it into my bluray player, just listening to it with headphones on, no need to have a look at the staging. Just listen.
Me too!
