Allow me to give a welcome to this joyous work, reconstructed by Messrs Hauk (the conductor here) and Hössl:

A playing time of 86:46 at Naxos' price - a steal!
Isn't it interesting that Naxos has no difficulty in getting over 86 minutes of music on a CD, whereas Dutton with their Ina Boyle disc claimed to be unable to do so and came up with a solution that pleased no-one, except of course the relatively small number of listeners with SACD players! Anyway, returning to Mayr, I welcome this release as Mayr is IMHO a composer who rarely disappoints.
Don't get me started on that Dutton CD. Ridiculous.
