Very interesting and (potentially) attractive. And, for me, there will be no duplication involved as (amazingly) I have never owned a recording of Tchaikovsky's VC!

I posted a link to an article in the Guardian last year about the concerto, which mentioned that this recording had been made.

It's now been released, as this review from LIMELIGHT magazine announces:

https://www.limelightmagazine.com.au/reviews/janusz-wawrowski-phoenix/

AND here's the back story from CLASSIC FM magazine in March:

(NB I wasn't sure whether to add this to my previous post or not, but a RED warning message suggested I start a new thread, so here it is!)

As a thread had already been started on this recording, I've moved Brendan's interesting post on the same subject here.

There are similarities of idiom between Różycki's VC and Korngold's VC, certainly, but the former, while lovely in its own right, is pretty pale by comparison. It should also be remembered that the recording actually presents a brand-new 'version', as it has been newly orchestrated by Janusz Wawrowski on the basis of fragments of an original score in the composer's handwriting, with historic material having been elaborated by Ryszard Bryła. Lovely, as I said, but hardly earth-shattering. And in reality a somewhat speculative reconstruction by other hands.
