Title: Sergei Taneyev - concert April 20th
Post by: brendangcarroll on Friday 16 April 2021, 19:04
Sergei Taneyev is one of my favourite neglected composers (you'll never hear his music on BBC Radio 3) & so I recommend this wonderful livestream all-Taneyev concert, April 20 by the superb Spectrum Concerts Berlin.

The link below will remain active for quite some time, so that you can listen later if you can't tune in when it's live.

"you'll never hear his music on BBC Radio 3"
He was composer of the week in February 2014. But ok, sure. (More recently, of course, 2017 BBC Prom 63 contained his Oresteia overture, which was broadcast over Radio 3 on August 31 and September 5 of that year.) And the whole of a Discovering Music performance of the piano quintet can be heard here (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p020c737).
