Korngold's charming SILENT SERENADE will be played at the Schleswig-Holsteinische Landestheater this coming September!

Some glorious stuff here.

The historic 1951 Radio Vienna premiere, with Korngold himself conducting from the piano, has also been released and is available on various formats. (see links below)

One can also stream the cpo recording over Amazon Music, Apple Music, etc. It's listed by cpo as currently not available, which may not be the same as deleted.

I own the historic recording with Korngold at the Piano, and it has quite a charm to it. The spoken passages are so unmistakably Viennese! The plot is rather silly, of course (if it wasn't in my mother tongue, I could easily just not pay attention to the dialogues and song texts, but as it's German I can't). But given the music and the many earworms, I don't care!
Very nice to hear that it is going to be staged.
