Emilia Gubitosi Born 3.2.1887 Naples - Died 17.1.1972 Naples
Emilia Gubitosi studied music with Beniamino Cesi, Costantino Palumbo, Fromesco Simonetti, Camillo De Nardis and Nicola D'Arienzo at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella in Naples, graduating in 1906 with a diploma in piano and in 1906 as the first woman graduate in composition.
Following the completing her studies, she became a concert pianist. In 1914 she took a position teaching at the Conservatory, where she remained until 1957. She assisted with the symphony orchestra in Naples and directed the associated choir school. She composed mostly large-scale works for orchestra. She married the composer Franco Michele Napolitano in 18.2.1922.

I only know her Piano Concerto (on youtube) which is a well-crafted piece admittedly in poor recording quality to damper the enjoyement. Just based on the score of that Concerto a thoughtful and sincere musician I'd like to hear more of.
