Title: Rosalind Ellicott (1857-1924)
Post by: Sarah Violin on Tuesday 16 November 2021, 21:52
Does anyone know if the score and parts for the sonata for violin and piano or the album of six pieces for violin and piano by Rosalind Ellicott are available anywhere? I have enjoyed listening to her piano trios and would like to explore her violin and piano pieces. Thanks!

6 pieces, @ Pancras (https://www.worldcat.org/title/six-pieces-violin-and-pf/oclc/1061660299&referer=brief_results) as published by Novello probably in 1891. Not sure about the violin sonata- I suspect it remains in manuscript.

I'm afraid I won't be travelling to London anytime soon to look up the 6 pieces in the British Library, but I have just found that her sketch for violin and piano, originally published in 1883, is included in an new anthology of violin music by women composers, in the 2nd intermediate level.
