Post by: Sarah Violin on Monday 31 January 2022, 23:59
Hello,
in another forum I am on someone was asking about English composer Fanny Scholfield Petrie (1859-1933) and wondering if anyone knows anything about her. There was a link to two piano pieces she wrote that were published in Girl's Own Paper in 1890 -

I know nothing about her, but am happy to pass along information if anyone here can help out!
Thanks,
Sarah

In terms of music I can find nothing more than the couple of piano pieces you have linked to.

It seems she died in Scarborough:

@Sarah Violin: It's a long shot but it may be worth trying to get hold of a probate record for her. In my experience this has become much easier and cheaper recently. The other day I paid just £1.50 for a digital record and got it in less than a week.
