Title: Roussel- Le Testament de la tante Caroline
Post by: Ebubu on Friday 11 March 2022, 15:56
Naxos has just issued Roussel's operetta Le Testament de la Tante Caroline.
First commercial recording of a work that was only known through (private) recordings from the French radio.
A welcome addition to the general public knowledge of this delightful French light répertoire.

As a reminder, les Frivolités Parisiennes has alreadu issued a number of excellent world premieres recordings of some French forgotten works : Don César de Bazan (Massenet), Le Diable à Paris (Lattès), and they are actually preparing a stage production of Maurice Yvain's La-Haut, of which one can hope for a CD recording later on, with the excellent quality of all the previous albums.
