Elmas is a curious case. He could write fabulous melodies, but seems to have great difficulty in constructing a musical argument. I can only judge his work on the basis of the piano concertos, which all start off brilliantly and then just sort of unravel. But as his best (such as the first movement of the 3rd concerto) there is some wonderful music.
